Size of backup

Thread needs solution

Running Win-8 Pro 64. HD size = 500GB. Why is the size of the backup 758GB. That's almost double the size of my HD.

Perhaps you included other disks or partitions.

I assume that the size you are quoting is for one specific tib file as displayed in the storage folder. If you are reading this size from the task in the maiin menu, the sum could a combination of many backups.

If the source disk has bad sectors, it can read the same sector many repeat times trying to get a read.
You may want to cosider testing the source for disk errors.

Normal backup size would be about 65-75% of used space of whatever is included within the backup.
Or if backup had the option checked for a sector by sector backup, then the backiup would be the same full size as the formatted disk.

Post a picture of your Windows Disk Management graphical view
and a picture of the storage disk.
