Specifed File does not exist error
When backup up my C: drive to my Western DIgital 500 gb external USB drive it starts to back up
and after just a little while I get this:"The specified file does not exist click browse to specify another location.
At this same time I get a Windows XP error: Windows-Delay write failed
It mentions different things at different times such as E:My Backup or E:\system volume information or
E:\$MFT
I see this exact same thing described several months ago and the cure was to get the latest download.'
I have downloaded the latest build and it makes no difference, same errors. I have been backing up
with this USB drive previously, a couple of months ago but have been alternating USB drives for off
site storage. I got this USB drive yesterday from my safe deposit drive and not it won't work.
Do I have an Acronis problem or do I have a drive problem or both? I do know if I unplug the drive the Windows-delayed write error goes away. I am looking for ideas on how to resolve this?
Thanks Ed

Delayed write for $Mft. Check USB cable, USB controller, whatever. Bring additional USB power supply if the disk if powered from the host only. I had such errors when USB drive just suddenly disconnects for no apparent reason, just copying files ono it, and you have to reconnect it back to see it again. Only on one of the computers, on the other it was ok. PS - run chkdsk on it - it probably has tons of errors or missing files.
