Once you create the .tib file, you can not split it.

Although you could use WinRAR or WinZip to create a split archive of the .tib file, you would have to un-archive the file to a hard disk or large flash drive to be able to restore from it, and you risk damaging the .tib file, making it unusable.

One option is to create the backup again, and in the backup task settings, you can tell Acronis to split the archive to whatever size file you want. You then can burn the files to DVD disks and use them for recovery when needed.

I routinely do this for new system OS installs to have a complete DVD based backup set for restore or recovery purposes.

I would HIGHLY suggest that you perform a validation of the complete DVD set after creation to be SURE that you can read and restore from it.

With a 26GB backup, it will take considerable time to do validation of the DVDs, but would save a tremendous headache later if they were not useable.

Acronis is supposed to be able to do a backup direct to CD/DVD/Blu-Ray, but I find it is better (more reliable) to create the split file backup, staged to a hard disk, and burn the files myself using my own burning software (ImgBurn).
