Standalone restore from NAS?

I have successfully backed up to a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Home NAS. Access to the NAS volume requires authentication (userid / password). When booting from the Recovery CD, the recovery program does not see the network devices. What do I need to do to ‘see’ the network drive so I can do a restore?
