Startup freeze after installing ATI Home 2011 -- USB drive set to bootable?
Installed ATI Home 2011 trial; rebooted. Set up Non-stop Backup; ran some other backups. Did some work. Rebooted. System would not boot; passes BIOS splash screen; does not begin loading OS from HDD.
It appears that the system was hanging waiting (?) to boot from the USB HDD to which I back up. I removed USB HDD from the boot sequence and it again boots from the internal HDD.
The system had never tried to boot from this HDD before; I did nothing with the drive except configure backups with ATI Home 2011.
On very rare occasions, I do boot from a USB HDD, just not the one I use for ATI backups.
Anyone with more knowledge know how I can verify whether this drive has been marked as bootable (if that's even the right concept) and how I can set it back to being just a data volume that is ignored by the BIOS's boot sequence (Lenovo ThinkPad T61p).
Thanks.
