Stuck In Cloning- Help

Thread needs solution

Running WIN7 PRO 32bit.I am cloning from inetrnal master sata disc to an external usb sata.To do this I was installing TIH2010 6029 but at install new update offred so I guess I installed build 6053.
Clonning goes okay reboot usual screen but seems to have stalled at 12 % ( I know USB) is slow but I have been watching for last 2 hours.
So how do I get out out of cloning and reboot ??
Any help and advice gratefully received as it is my son's machine.

After a clone process you MUST disconnect one of the drives before booting for the first time. You can then reconnect the drive AFTER a successful first boot.

BTW, are you thinking that you can boot Windows from the USB drive?

If the system is still stuck then there's no other option but to pull the plug and restart.

Robert,
Look at items 7D, 7C, 7B, 7A inside my signature index below.

Best that the procedure to done when booted from the TI Rescue CD.

Also best chance of success is to use the Reverse method. That is, remove the source and place it in an another locations such as an external enclosure.
Install the blank target in its intended boot location.

And, as DwnNDrty has indicated, shutdown after the procedure and remove the source disk so only the new disk is attached before first bootup.

Thanks for the suggestions I'll follow the recue cd method I think!
