Stuck in consolidating - a possible solution

Thread needs solution

For a couple of weeks now my backups have failed, stuck in 'Consolidating', I run daily with a 5 day incremental scheme, and  remove older than 7 days. I thought it was my NAS causing the issues, it's not a great preformer, and a little flakey, but had functioned well for a couple of years. Got a new NAS, much snappier, so recreated the backup and pointed at nice new 3TB drive (backups are ~200Gb). First full backup created, but then stuck in consolidating, tried a couple of more times, each time with a clean folder, and always stuck in consolidating.

More in desperation than hope I uninstalled, deleted programdata\acronis, and reinstalled, fired off the backup and it went all the way thru, first good backup in 3 weeks .... Phew

Anwyay, I'm guessing there must be some 'database' or state in programdata and that it had become 'corrupted'.

Hello Daniel, thank you for sharing your experience with the forum.

For future reference if you encounter this or a similar problem again, you can try just renaming the Acronis Database folder (with all the Acronis Services and Programs stopped) and letting Acronis rebuild the database files again when all is restarted.  This would be quicker than having to do a full uninstall and install again.

The database files are held at C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database.

Thx Steve,

Hopefully it won't happen again ;-) but good to know !
