Support for windows 7 64 bit
Does true Image Home 2012 support windows 7 64 bit?
Does true Image Home 2009 support windows 7 64 bit?
I have the 2009 version of true image and just got a new PC with windows 7 64 bit. The install keeps failing and I fear that I've just hit another hidden cost of this new PC. Do I need to upgrade to proceed? The 2009 version has the bug that it forgets the file creation date when restored, is that bug fixed in 2012? Can you point be to the discounted upgrade fee or am I forced to throw out my investment and the 100% new 2012 version?

That's strange. I've run ATI version 11 (not 2011, but the much older version 11) on Vista for several years with no issues.

Tuttle,
If I recall correctly TIH 2009 didn't become fully Vista compliant until build 9796, so my comment above was misleading as I was thinking more about W7 when I wrote it.
ATIH 2009 did at the beta, and I think the first released build, install on Windows 7, but Acronis swiftly realised this was an error as 2009 wasn't full W7 compatible with it's registry entries and so added it to the (then new) Microsoft banned product installation list and subsequently changed the installer so that you didn't even get to the 'This product is not Microsoft Approved etc'.
The restriction doesn't apply to the Western Digital or Seagate version of TIH (which are based on 2009) as they were 'tinkered' with either by the disk manufacturers programmers or Acronis made the changes themselves specifically.
Either way - even if someone can 'persuade' TIH2009 to install on W7, they will have problems getting it to actually run and behave as it won't have the correct drivers or registry entries.

Definitely better to have a fully compliant version. I was surprised that old version 11 runs well on my friend's Vista laptop.
As for drivers, I bet that's the difference in performance between the bootable ISOs of version 11 and 2012 on my Windows, preferring the USB 2 rather than the USB 3. Plus while 2012 images the disk and validates in less than 20 minutes, version 11 takes two hours.
