Sussessful HD Change - Now.... Help

Thread needs solution

New user here. I have changed my HD from 160Gb to 320Gb using ATI 2010 via a complete backup and then recovery to new HD.

When I view the "C" drive it reads Total size 138Gb, free space 968mb. (there is also a "D" drive with 10Gb used and 1Gb free which I presume includes the OS etc).

I have a program, 'Partition Master', and it reflects the above for "C" drive with the exception of an "Unallocated" space of 152.619Gb. See attached pic.

Now, to resize. I can hover the mouse over the "C" and select 'resize'. If I change the size, will it take the amount from the "Unallocated" area?

Thanks.

I am not familiar with Partition Master, so not sure what it would do.

What you can do though is use a 'trick' with TI and the Secure Zone. Set up a SZ and tell it to use all unused space, reboot after finishing the SZ wizard, then using the SZ wizard delete the SZ and when asked attach the free space to whichever partition you want to add it to.

When you recover a complete disk image, there is an option to expand partitions proportionally or to manually attach the free space to the partition of choice.

Before altering the partitions, make an image or at the very least don't delete the image you've just recovered.

Thanks Colin
