Sychronisation - approx. 20 TCP connections. Anyone know why?

I do some software development and use resource monitor quite a bit, I was shocked to see that the synchronisation process syncagentsrv.exe has approx. 20 TCP connections 24/7. I unlinked the the one sync that was setup and still have the same number of TCP connections. McAfee traffic monitor reports that it's responsible for 78% of internet traffic - and I the web quite a lot. Does anyone know how to stop this?
