Syncing the subfolders not occurring

Thread needs solution

I've just created my first syncs from my PC's hard disk (WinXP) to an external HD. I have green checks for sync state on all syncs. Unfortunately, the subfolders of the synced folders are not included. I had assumed they would be - I can't find any setting to enable or disable the inclusion of the subfolders. What am I missing?

Harvey,
I don't have this problem on my system. When I set up a new local sync I select the source folder and the destination folder(creating a new folder if necessary) and tell the program to sync now. All the folders and the files contained within them are synced. There are no options to include or exclude subfolders. Please check to see if you are running the current build of Acronis True Image Home 2012. It is currently build 7133. You can do this by clicking the "?" in the top right corner of the program, and selecting "About Acronis True Imahe Home". If you are not running the current build, you should download the current build from your Acronis account, and install it. Could you provide some addtional info on what folders you are trying to sync, and how you created and setup your local sync.

Harvey,

Is there any chance that your subfolders are special folders like "my documents" that are actually pointing to other physical places?

Hi,

unfortunately I have a similar problem, Im using W7 64 and Acronis True Image Home (Build 7133). I sync "G:\" to "Y:\DATA". First all run fine. Since a view weeks I found out that new subfolders within my Foto-Directory were not synced to the destination folder (see screenshots). It is a "handmade" folder and no special folder and as James said the configuration is quite simple. But what goes wrong? Im now afraid that maybe others files oder subfolders were not synced too (althoug Acronis said they were).

Thanks,

Sven.

Thanks for confirming that the subfolders should have been included. Incidentally, they are folders and subfolders I created to hold jpg's and psd's (Photoshop files).

I find I'm at build 7119. Will do an update and get back to you.

Harvey

No, just ordinary subfolders with mostly image files (jpg and psd).

Am stuck trying to do the update. It failed; I then tried to do an uninstall; it failed; ran the Acronis Uninstall tool and verified the registry was clean (it is). A fresh install of Acronis True Image 2012 just failed with the cryptic message "Fatal Error during installation".

Any light would be welcome!

I'm not sure whether to rejoice or swear.

I set out to work my way thru thread 24547 (not having seen anything particularly useful on page 6 of the thread cited above). The standard advice re-appears: Capture the log. I knew from the start I'd have to sooner or later, but hadn't yet done it. So, I restart the install of ATIH 2012 to provoke the fail and it installs! I try the install of the Plus package and it installs too. I suppose the moon has entered another phase or the tide's gone out or maybe my biorhythms are good today.

I'm glad it installed finally for whatever reason, because I do like this product. I once had to re-image a system after years of backing up my system in the blind faith it was worthwhile. And the restore worked without a hitch. I'm a confirmed Acronis fan!
