system shut down after backup

Thread needs solution

I have the 3 system license. Use on 2 Win7 and 1 win 8.1 machine. None of them will shut down after a backup. I've seen a work around on this site but I feel it should work as outlined in the user manual. There has already been an update but the problem was not addressed. Please advise as to when the problem is rectified. I am also upset about only having a 30 day support window to address all potential problems.

Am I beating a dead horse or am I the only one experiencing this defect in the program?

Yes, I too reported this problem back in January and was given a a workaround by one of the senior forum posters.

No, you're not beating a dead horse because Acronis seems to insist that the horse does not exist!

Astur,
Maybe you are referring to this link but Phantomphixer wrote he was not interested in a workaround.

Acronis does not track most of the postings made.

You stated that Acronis does not track most of the postings on this forum. Sounds to me like they're pretty much immune from hearing about defects in their program. BTW, I am using your work around since it appears to be the only game in town. It bothers me that people feel it's OK to take your money and not give you what I paid for. The user guide states that the program should operate a certain way and in reality it doesn't. There also doesn't appear to be any attempt to correct the deficiency. I waited more than 30 days to find this problem so now I have to spend more money to deal with tech support.

Not for sure here but I would like to state that power schemes can be and often are problematic. There may well be a bug as you say in the TI app in this regard however if that were the case I would suspect there would be many more post to that effect. It just could be that the OS itself is preventing the shutdown or a similar piece of hardware that you both use that is at the root of the problem. Many times these problems can be traced back to bios settings in the machines themselves. For example many bios power schemes do not have ACPI 2.0 enabled, by default this feature is disabled. Now I am not sure how Acronis performs the shutdown after task but I would guess that it follows the ACPI protocol. You might have a look at your bios settings on your machines just for kicks and giggles at the predefined power settings and see if in fact this feature is enabled.

Phantomphixer,
Sad but mostly true. If you want official Acronis help, they expect you to use their support functiion and if the problem is determinied (by them) to be theirs, they offer to refund the support charge. I am not associated with them so I do not speak for them.

As Bob has indicated, power settings have been reported as a problem. Such as if the setting is set to get the most performance, this has been reported to prevent shutdowns. Perhaps you have a balanced setting from the mfg that you can try.
