System stuck after installing True Image 2010 on Win7

Thread needs solution

Hello. After successfully installing True Image Home 2010, my laptop got hung on restart. The only thing I can choose, is to boot into BIOS by F2. If I do that, in the Boot tab, section boot priority order, my IDE0 harddisk and my IDE1 DVD drive seem to have vanished. When I exit the BIOS, after system restart, the system hangs immediately after the boot screen. The only thing visible is a sort of cursor (non-blinking) in the upleft corner of a black screen, and nothing else happens.
By no means am I able to get in System Recovery or something similar, because, apparently, my DVD drive "has gone".
Did anyone have a similar problem??

Thanks,
Arnoud

Hello A Schutte,

Thank you very much for your post. I will be happy to assist you.

I found your support case which you opened with our support engineers recently, and it is very difficult to determine the cause of the issue at the moment. Were you able to use last known good configuration or boot into safe mode?

When you installed our software, was it an update over an existing version? Do you remember the build number of the software you tried to install?

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hello Anton,

It was an upgrade from v.11 to 2010 (last built; 7046). Because after the live chat with the support engineers, and my own thoughts, I suspected an hardware malfunction more than a software issue (as I was no longer to boot from what device whatsoever), I have returned my laptop to the manufacturer for analysis andrepair (hopefully) today.

So, I'll be awaiting return of my laptop, will take some time, I think.

Best Regards,
Arnoud
