Testing Backup?

Thread needs solution

I'm using the True Image 2013 trial because of good reviews. SO far it is working as well as reviews, I like the other features of Sync and Non stop.

I'd by this software for all the PCs if I was assured it would work, one laptop in paticular I can not have failure ever as it is used daily for work. All my PC can be, basically they are all backups for the one main laptop.

Biggest issue I've had with other software is can't boot from USB drive. Which is solved with True Image. I can now boot from the USB stick made with True Image.

But!
Looking at the USB files I am worried, it has an icon for Bootwiz file that is from my EFI Live Scan Tool? Also 2 bin files have taken the icon from my computer for bin files? I do a lot of work with bin files.

I booted from the USB and seems to work, but how can I truly test this? Without actually destroying my hard drive if it does not go well?

At USB boot I did do a system ? that filed a report? Would this help? In the dos view there were some things missing?

NOthing short of an actuall restore will give you 100% confidence the restore is working. That said, if you just restore a couple of FILES from your disk and partition backup, using the recovery CD, you have a high level of confidence you could restore to bare metal.

Remember to switch to disk mode when you select what to backup (blue link in the upper right), and select the box at the disk level. This will ensure all necessary partitions are included.
