TI 2010 6.029 slow when entering backup file name

Thread needs solution

I am using TI 2010 build 6.029 on a 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate system. After some s--ewing around, True Image is currently able to backup and restore partitions on my system.

When the destination is an NTFS partition, the entry of a filename goes smoothly and the backup proceeds without incident. However, if the destination is the Acronis Secure Zone, then the entry of the destination backup filename is problematic. It appears as if when there are only two or three backups stored on the Secure Zone, then the entry of a filename is easily accomplished. However, if there are already (say) eight or more backup files stored on the Secure Zone, then the entry of a Secure filename in the backup wizard is a slow and laborious process. (Note that the actual copy procedure is still fast.) But, if you select an NTFS partition as the backup destination, the filename entry is quick and easy.

Can someone explain why filename entry for storing or restoring to/from the Secure Zone is a slow process, but not when the source/destination file is located in an NTFS partition?

Hello Gotwals,

No worries, I will help you to resolve this issue.

Actually, we haven't heard about such performance decreasing during backup to Acronis Secure Zone. Probably this issue is related to analysis of Secure Zone which is performed when you're going through Wizard.

There are several common recommendations I'd recommend you to follow:

1. First of all, please make sure you use the latest build (6053), which is available here. To get access to updates you should first register Acronis software. We have fixed some common issues from previous builds, so it should work better.

2. Delete Acronis Secure Zone and recreate it from scratch (note that you will loose all your backups stored there, so please be careful!); please make sure that Acronis Secure Zone is created on your internal drive

If the issue still persists, please let us investigate it and do the following:

- Download the file;
- Run the downloaded file
The gathered information will be put in adv_report.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.
Running AcronisInfo may take up to 5 minutes.

Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the issue appears and the link to this thread. Then please provide me with the case number you receive from our system, so I can pick it up and speed up the process. We will do our best to investigate the problem and provide you with a solution

Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

Regards,
