TI 2010 Rescue Disk Will not Boot
I have tried booting my Acer Aspire M1640 computer with both TI 2009 and TI 2010 boot disks made on the same machine. The 2009 variant just hangs when 'loading' having asked for TI to start. The 2010 variant eventually reports that it cannot find any hard disks. I can boot the system into Windows safe mode so I know the HD is okay. I am trying to restore the system drive to the state it was a couple of days ago and I cannot boot from TI to do this. I have seen mention of a special ISO being sent to people in other posts. Do I need this special ISO or am I doing something wrong? I sort of hoped that I'd restart, restore and go, so am pretty concerned.
Any help gratefully received as I depend heavily on this machine.
Kind regards,
RT

Hello all,
Thank you for your messages and kind help.
Richard, I will do my best to help you.
I will send you a private message with a download link for ATIH2011 trial boot CD, it is limited to recovery only but it can restore backups created with ATIH2010.
If you need additional help, please let me know.
Thank you.

Many thanks for the responses. The 2011 trial disk gave the same 'has not found any disk drive' message as the 2010 version. The drive is fine as I can boot into Windows in safe mode. I have also had problems trying to copy all contents of a mounted copy of the TrueImage backup into a directory so that I can try booting with a Linux live distro or similar and copy them across to my system disk. I am also experiencing this from someone else's computer, so I know it is not the computer. It seems that it is not possible to do such a copy because it simply does not happen when I ask it to. Some files are copied and others are not without any errors being reported. I have validated the backup archive. Has anyone else experienced bugs when trying to copy from a mounted backup archive?
Does anyone have suggestions as to how I might be able to restore my backup? Having a backup is pointless unless it is possible to restore as I'm sure you'll appreciate.
Is there any way I can run TI and ask it to restore the files to another directory rather than to their original directory? I'm getting desperate...
Many thanks in advance.

Hello Richard,
Thank you for replying.
There are additional things we can do since it is a recovery issue and you need to get your backup restored.
I will send you a private message with a couple of additional bootable medias to see if it resolves this problem.
1. Bootable media based on isolinux for ATIH 2010. It is an older build which we no longer develop them and distribute them for newer versions because of this issue. However, it is worth trying just in case.
2. Bootable media for ABR10 Workstation trial, just like ATIH 2011 that I sent you before, it is limited to recovery operations only. It can recover backups made by ATIH 2010.
If none of them help, please collect this report and contact our Support team so that we can help you resolve this issue.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
