TI-2011 won't restore image to Crucial C300 SSD

I have been a happy Acronis 2011 user for a few years and just upgraded my syatem to a Crucial C300 64GB primary SSD for system and program files only.

I have been making backup images with no problem but yesterday I had the need to restore from an image and to my horror TI failed with repeated Failed to Write errors.

I reverted to my previous HDD and the restore operation worked fine so I am guessing that TI is not compatible with SSD's or at least some regardless of what I read on this forum.

Thankfully what I was able to do was to clone the SSD from the old HDD but being different sizes I was not completely happy with that.

Is this a known issue, TI, Crucial or MOBO issue?, all advice welcome.

ASUS - P6X58D-E, Crucial C300 on SATA 6Gb with Marvel controller.
