TI 2012 Backing up image folder results in file twice the original size

Thread needs solution

When I backup my image folder which contains mainly .jpgs and a few video files, the resulting .tib file is twice the size as the original folder size. Why is that? I don't expect much reduction in file size by compressing an already compressed file format such as a .jpg but I wouldn't expect the file size to actually grow. Not only that, it takes an extraordinary long time to back up file folder, much longer than my much bigger entire C drive (image folder resides in secondary drive).

Hi Gary,

welcome to Acronis Forum!

I'll be glad to assist you.

As far as I understood, you are backing up one folder using "File backup" option and the resulting .tib file is bigger than the original folder.

Could you please create a new backup plan for the same folder and check if the issue persists?

If yes, please create some screenshots, that can illustrate the problem you've faced.

Thank you in advance!
