TI 2015 Build 6055 - Bootable media recover cannot see my USB drive

Thread needs solution

Have just found that I have a serious problem if I want to recover from an image. When I boot from the 2015 build 6055 bootable media, the USB drive on which Acronis True Image places the images is not visible.

I have confirmed this on multiple systems. I have also confirmed that if I use Acronis 2014 build 6673 bootable media then the USB drive is visible.

Being that this is a recovery problem, I started a free chat session...
I have a license for multiple systems, and I don't understand how something so basic to the mission of this product can be broken.

-----: I understand and it happens because there are many changes in the programming made in the Acronis 2015. You can create Win PE and then you will be able to work with that drive.

You: when running from Windows 8.1

-----: Here are the steps to create Win PE:

You: you have software with bugs

You: I don't have Windows Automated Installation Kit, and I don't need it.

You: Maybe I need a refund!!

-----: Victor,
I understand your concern, this must be very frustrating. To ensure that the management team is aware of this, I am going to enter your comments into our ‘Customer Listening System’. The feedback we submit is used to drive major changes in support and Acronis as a whole. It is a vital initiative in Acronis and is taken very seriously. I am sorry, your experience did not meet your expectations, as I said; I will make sure your concerns are reviewed by the management team.

You: Please keep this open as a critical issue and find out what is wrong, rather than make me work to build a solution

-----: For time being I can only suggest you to work with Win PE.

You: I use True Image for disaster recovery. And now I find it useless in a disaster

I got sucked in by the Black Friday deal they offered and purchased it a second time...figured they fixed things with 6055...was I wrong!!! Got my second refund within a few hours. Tech support emailed me and the conversation was similar to yours, Victor. Then I received a follow up saying that they thought the issue was my machine (x99) and the fact that my external drive is 4TB, so I responded that TI 2014 recognizes the drive but 2015 does not. I cannot understand how they managed to break such a basic function in the new version, while the old version works! Acronis did not do a lot of work on 2015 prior to release. Sloppy and Arrogant!

I just saw another post that mentioned the USB 3.0 drivers are missing from the boot media and to try a USB 2.0 port.

Further, I have found that the 2015.5539 bootable media can see the USB drive when it's plugged into a USB 3.0 port and even with build 6525, I can restore an image using the earlier boot media.

Still no excuse for breaking the most basic function and the reason for having the software.
