TI Home 2010 and Windows 7 Live Mail

Thread needs solution

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 with True Image Home 2010. I am trying to do file-level backups of my e-mail system, which is Windows Live Mail. I am able to create a backup task, and actually run the task. However, when I test the backup by deleting a contact and then try to restore from the backup, nothing happens. The same is true if I delete an e-mail, and then try to restore from the backup. The documentation (user guide) states that Windows Mail is supported in this version. Is Windows Live Mail support different from Windows Mail support? If so, will Windows Live Mail be provided soon?

Thanks,
David

Windows Mail was included in Vista as a replacement for Outlook Express. Both are at end-of-life and Windows Live Mail is the supported replacement. It is not included in ATI Home 2010 email backup and I haven't heard anything about it being included in the near future. You could include your storage folder in a data backup to ensure you get it that way.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. I upgraded to ATI Home 2010 so that I could get Windows 7 support. It seems only reasonable that it should support the version of mail supported by Windows 7, namely Windows Live Mail.

In the meantime, I'll try your suggestion.

Thanks again.

To find the WLM store folder click the the Menus icon (Alt + M)-> Options-> Advanced (tab)-> Maintenance-> Store Folder to see the path for messages, There will also be folders for contacts and mail settings in the same location as the message folder. Each user account normally stores them seperatly in their own AppData folder.

Are we able to have a date for a release of 2010 that allows a back up of Windows Live Mail?

It is ridiculous that as Live Mail has been out for many months that 2010 does not include support for it,

Steve

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I've forwarded the request to the responsible person and we'll definitely implement the support for Windows Live Mail in future versions of Acronis True Image.

Unfortunately, we don't have any ETA when the software with this feature will be released.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

Thank you.
