TI Home 2010 unbelievably slow [10-15 minutes] navigating panels

Thread needs solution

Steps, like opening a folder to select a backup to recover, or creating new backup file [just getting the folder open to define the file] can take 10-15 minutes, sometimes longer. Prior version did not have this problem. Something is fundamentally wrong here. I experienced this on Win98, and now again on a Fresh Win 7 system.

Also sometimes stops altogether in the partition lock sequence, and I must start from scratch.

Something about the system configuration. Normally have 18-20 drives mounted, all direct connect, maybe 15 TB. On my 2 drive Win98 laptop, everything seems fine.,

Having the same problem with windows 7 64bit. Not sure how to get over the problem. The more information on the drive the slower the program goes. It is also slow when run from F11 secure zone.

Ken, try disconnecting all but, say, 3 of the drives. Does the problem go away?

JohnG, clarify "It is also slow when run from F11 secure zone". The True Image software is usually run from its installation in Windows or from the bootable Rescue CD. I've not read of anyone installing it in the SZ.

The help files indicate that it can be run from the SZ. Acronis Startup Recovery Manager needs to be set up to do this. The F11 key intrups the setup before windows starts and gives a choise to load Acronis or windows. So I assumme it is loading the same instalation as windows.
I am going to write a start up disk and try that. Then remove Acronis and the value pack and reinstall the basic Acronis and see what the diffrence is.

Well I updated True Image 2011 with update 1 (build 6597) en now the program self start quick but where the backups are in that part needs 4 minutes to start. The backup (additional) is extremely quick (both drives, from drive C and D and the backup is a USB HD, so all is normal only the startup from my backups needs 4-5 minutes, longer than the making of my backup.
When Acronis started, years ago, I could ask somebody a question, I have no idea how to do this now, its for a customer not to understand how to reach the technical support.

Lucky you... just bought this lemon. Installed with all the defaults. Finally got to tick the stupid welcome screen off. Still not responding, "loading?" WHEN?????? LEMON!!! How long does it take for support to respond?

  1. Procmon
  2. Acronis Info
