TI work on a hybrid hard drive?

Thread needs solution

I'm thinking of installing a hybrid hard drive in my laptop but I'm unsure if TI will properly image such a thing (without a lot of tricks to get it to work).

Any experience or thoughts?

Thanks

You have to try the drive to see if ATI bootcd can recognize. There so much diff stuff out there, it's impossible to keep up.

You have to add the drive (initialize in appropriate format (MBR or GPT) you can do this form within before attempting a restore. You should know then if you're going to have any difficulty. If you can initialize, then you should be able to restore.

If you are using ati2012 and windows 7, then you shouldn't have to worry about sector alignment and other pitas. Some of the technical hoops required for a hybrid are built into the drive and it presents the world more like a regular drive. But there is a lot of diff stuff out there.
If you're using and older version, then things get much iffier.

If you consider moving to newer version, understand the new versions have tended to be released roughly around sept and I don't think Acronis has ever allowed free upgrades if you purchased a version more than 30 days before a new version is released.

You might as the manufacturer if they've tested with ATI?

The only way to really know before you buy is to find someone that is using the same software and has the same hard drive (and probably on the same model of pc). -- good luck with that.
