TI2013: edit XML scripts manually

Because TI2013 messes up with the chain of full+incr backups I want to get more grip on the situation. I found the following lines in one of my backup scripts:

I hoped that I could understand which files should be registered here, but checking 6 different scripts there seem no logic to me. So I have two questions and hope someone can answer these:
1 - which files should be registered here (so that I can manually fix it when needed)?
2 - How can I determine the Volume_id of a tib file myself?
