TI2014 --password protect backup, AES256, creates full backups every time (when differential schema setup)
hi folks,
I have an older True Image 2014 version, and it appears, when I password protect the backups, with AES256, even if I the schema is set as "differential", it always keeps creating full backups. Is this a bug in the older version or is there a workaround to allow password protection of backups and allow for incremental/differential or whatever type of backup is set up.
thank you,
Cos

great thanks a bunch, Steve,
I had 6673.... I've tried to do a "repair" using the latest 6688 and it's not updating the build... maybe I should completely uninstall the 6673 and reinstall the latest?
many thanks,
Cos

Cos, this is a little strange, my own install of ATIH 2014 shows build 6688 and yet there is no evidence of this build in my downloads page on the Acronis main site, and it isn't mentioned on the Product Updates page either!??
I would try doing the uninstall and reinstall then see if it will update itself further to build 6688 then?

Steve, I do see B6688 when I login to my account. If I followed your ink it is missing. Not usre why there is a difference unless it s an error in the website by Acronis.

hi Steve, I have been able to install build 6688, however, it is still taking full backups, even though "differentials" is the setting, and encryption 256 for the password. A bit clueless as to what's going on as, if I do not password protect the backup, it seems the differential backups are executed fine.
any other thoughts?
thanks,
Cosmin

Cosmin, are there any clues offered in the backup task logs that may help here?

here's the log and the backup plan. I can't see anything obvious, out of order.
any thoughts?
thx,
Cosmin

Cosmin, ditto - I too can't see any obvious reason from the images for why you should not be seeing differential backups?
