TIH 2011: question about Incremental backup method

Thread needs solution

I do a backup of C: to a directory on D:, then once a month I move the contents of the backup directory on D: to another machine. Immediately afterwards, I do "Back up now" in the main TIH window.

My question is this: is the new backup I do after moving aside the old TIH files (to another machine) a standalone backup that does not depend on anything else (the now missing files)?

Thanks.

You can prove that yourself by booting to the Rescue CD and validating the moved files.

In order for the files to be restorable, you need the base which is the full backup and then all incrementals associated with that full.

The full backups will be much larger and then the incrementals will be smaller. If you have such a description, then your files are probably restoreable but a validation would give you more confidence.

I am assuming that every time you execute the "BAckup Now" and your storage folder is empty, that results in a new full size backup.
