TIH2014 disk backup (ftp): consolidation fails due to failing access
I am using TIH2014 for a while now, backup up disk images for two PCs (Windows 7 Pro 64Bit). One is using a USB HD, working fine. The other one is backing up to a Synology NAS via FTP. As a consequence TI creates lots of files for the full backup (300+). Both machines use an incremental backup strategy with automatic consolidation (triggered by number of backups to keep).
The NAS has enough space and backups themselves work just fine. However, once I get to the point where automatic consolidation comes into play, things get strange. Basically, _after_ the actual backup is done, TI tries to consolidate, which is failing with:
356 True Image 02.12.2013 23:27:40 Der exklusive Zugriff auf eine Backup-Datei während der Konsolidierung ist fehlgeschlagen. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Datei nicht in einer anderen Anwendung geöffnet ist.
(Exclusive access to backup file failed during consolidation...)
I reconfigured the backup task already, since I thought maybe my initial tests with TI screwed up its internal DB of backups made so far. So this is a completely new job, failing immediately once the consolidation is starting.
Just in case: I am using FTP to prevent regular users, which see the backup drive read-only can delete backups. Therefore, I am using FTP, which is more efficient than SMB and Windows does not keep the mounted (writable) share open after the backup.
I'd really appreciate any input you may have. The forum did not show too much input on this... I'll attach the (German) log of the first failure after the full backup in case you're interested.
Thanks,
Mike
