Time left: Calculating (hanging)

Thread needs solution

When doing incremental backup to Secure Zone it's "hanging" for up to 20 mins whilst it's "calculating". It doesn't do this when I backup to an external drive.
Anyone else have this problem and know of a solution?

Cheers

David,

What is the host OS?

How much storage space is in the ASZ and how much is free?

Hi Colin,

It's Windows 7, 64 bit. SZ is 150Gb in total, with 75Gb used, so nowhere near full. Any help much appreciated.

Check that your firewall and A/V aren't trying to scan the SZ on access.

It would also be worth unhiding the partition by giving it a temporary label in Windows Disk Manager and running chkdsk /r on it, it is possible there is a corrupted sector and 2013 is trying to access it. Once chkdsk has run, you should hide the partition again.

Caught me just before bed time :)

Assign a drive letter to the SZ by opening up Windows Disk Management (right click on My Computer and select Manage).

Open a Windows CMD box (win button + r type in CMD), type in chkdsk x: /r

Substitute your SZ drive letter for x:
