Too many activations - cannot move activation from one PC to another
Hello,
I have purchased a single PC license for this product, and used it with success on the first computer for over a month.
Now, I want to move the license to my laptop computer for portability (and the laptop is generally better anyways) but am having difficulty moving the activation. Here is breakdown:
I click on the "resolve problem" link on the bottom of the s/w window next to message "Too many activations."
I click "Move license from another computer". The webpage opens prompting me to login with my Acronis account to move the license. I enter my credentials, and am given a message saying the "registration email is incorrect".
I click on "Forgot registration details" and enter my serial number. Within one minute, I receive an email at the address that I was told was incorrect.
This seems way more difficult than it needs to be.
Kyle

I did - the only thing the person was able to do was attempt a remote login of my PC to attempt to see the error messages first hand. He was unable to do this, however, and advised me to call back in an hour.

Hello Kyle and Scott!
Thank you for your comments. Scott, thanks a lot for help.
Kyle, thank you for reporting about the issue.
First of all please note that the license of Acronis True Image Home can be moved to another machine only in case the previous computer is no longer in use, otherwise it will be a violation of Acronis License Policy.
If the original machine is really no longer available, then the situation requires investigation. We will surely be glad to help you with this one.
I have checked our database for any support records opened for your account, but unfortunately cannot find any. I assume you have opened a support request from another e-mail account, and I would appreciate if you could kindly specify here the case number. I will be able to find it, review the details and help you with solving the issue.
Let us know if you have any additional questions, we will be glad to help.
Thank you.

Hello Yana,
Thanks for your response.
The old machine is no longer available to me or my software - it has been given to another person, and I've removed my (including Acronis...) software from that machine.
I have a laptop that I wish to use the software on, although I have already uninstalled the Acronis software from my laptop because the constant annoying reminder that there are too many activations is, well, annoying.
If find a ticket, then I guess one was never created. You can go ahead & create one, if you have time. I won't be using the software now because I can't. I'm in the middle of a backup operation, so I'm looking at other alternatives already. You might want to resolve this issue anyways, just so it doesn't cause other people to not be able to use the software that you sold them.
Best Regards,
Kyle

Hello,
I purchased a two user licence of TIH 2012. However, since deleting and re-installing Acronis on one of my PCs Acronis says that i have "Too many activations" and it wont allow me to use Acronis on one of my PCs. It must think i am using both licences when at the moment i am only using one.
I look forward to your help.
Thank you.

Can't move license to a 2nd PC
Can you help? I purchased 2 licenses for TIH 2012 and then 2 licenses for the TIH 2013 upgrade. The Acronis website can show that I own these 4 products. At first I used TIH 2013 on only one PC, then I did a clean re-install of Windows and activated the product again. Now I want to use TIH on a 2nd PC, but the product tells me that I have used all my licenses. I'm assuming that both of my licenses are assigned to the same PC, so is no available license for my 2nd PC. But when I attempt to move one license to the 2nd PC I can't because the web page shows only one computer and one license.
How can I free one of the licenses from my 1st PC so that I can assign it to my 2nd PC? I would appreciate your help very much!

check out this thread. You need to deactivate. I'd deactivate all and then reactivate on the machine(s) desired. [sigh] no matter what the vendosay, activation is a royal pita. good luck,sh
If you need tech support, acronis should not charge for activation issues.

I use Acronis mainly to move Virutal machines. I only install it once and use it once for each machine. This works fine for 2010. I just upgraded to the 2013 and see it has activation. This is a huge inconvenient. I will never buy/upgrade Acronis again. I haven't activated my copy yet, I hope there is a way to get a refund.

Within 30 days, yes, you can get a refund. After that, no.

I also am unable to get the Acronis activation server to transfer my activation key from my WinXP to the new Win7 machine. I was initially able to do a preliminary BU on the Win7 but then got a message "too many activations". Now, True Image 2013 provides full functionality on WinXP (which I don't want) but only permits recoveries on Win7 (which is useless since I can't make additional backups on this machine).
I have been using Acronis software since 2008, and have been able to communicate with their support successfully on one or two occasions in the past. This is no longer possible. Their filtering of support requests and lack of response make communication with them impossible. I now have a product which I like and paid for, but can no longer use. And there appears to be nothing I can do about it. Having spent many hours trying to penetrate the barriers with which Acronis has insulated itself from having to deal with their Customers, I am now reduced to advising others to be aware that they are buying a good product, but if they need help, they're on their own.
