Transfer Cloned Drive made on different computer

Win 8 laptop would not boot and could not repair this issue. Purchased Acronis True Image and created Clone of Hard Drive (bootable). on another computer, which I have on a USB drive.
Have since re-installed Win 8 on latop, and am hoping to copy files back from Clone of Hard Drive, as opposed to "parsing" through what files remain in "windows.old."

Is there a simple way to do this?
How about this- is there way to do this that is easier than sifting through "windows.old?"
(Meanwhile, Win 8 is installing a 100 updates.)
