trouble recovering volume (ext4) mounted with ext2fs program in windows 7

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have an ~850GB backup I made with Acronis home edition.
I put my old linux home hdd in a sled and mounted it with ext2fs in windows 7.
The backup contains tons of files and folders that I can browse/view when I open the archive, but recovery in windows fails. Copy/paste from the archive to another hdd never does anything.

I booted a laptop with 2 externals (since this operation takes about 20 hours) to the acronis 2013 boot disc, it processes the archive for about 20 hours then fails. This is when I try to recover the volume.

The closest I have had to success is recovering files/folders. I've started the operation then I come home to certain long file names that cannot be recovered, and I'm presented with an IGNORE/RETRY/CANCEL which i have to sit there and repeatedly click ignore.

I suppose I'd like to know if there is a cmd line switch or option to just ignore those unrecoverable files so that I can restore what I can get my hands on, or does anyone have a better solution?

Thanks,

Patrick
