true image 10 and hard disk sata 2

Thread needs solution

I added a hard drive western digital 500gb caviar blue sata 2,  to my pc (motherboard  M2N4-SLI)

Start using xp and the hard disk work correct but if  I start true image10 it takes about 10 minutes analyzing the disk in question, then to close true image , requires 10 minutes.

At this point if shut down xp it requires 5 minutes.

If disconnected from the computer the hard disk in question ,true image start end stop correctly in few seconds.

On the pc, I have another 80 gb eide hard disk (system) and another 320gb sata1 .all are formatted ntfs and not use raid

As a rule of thumb, the older your version of ATI, the less likely that it will work with newer hardware.  Although ATI 10, imo, was the last good version Acronis produced, There's a lot of hardware it can't handle. The newest and soon to be obsolete version, ATI 12/2009 probably handles the widest variety of hardware -- yo can try it for free and see if it works on your pc.

Otherwise, if you want to struggle through trying to get ATI10 to work on your machine, search for related posts on the recently ceased ATI forums at

I tried with the 2009 version of true image but the problems are identical

Windows XP:

Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Services -> , find "Distributed Link Tracking Client" and double-click on it
Click the "STOP" button to stop the service
Then right-click it choose properties and set startup type to Disabled.

*****
Now no more delay on ATI 2009 or ATI 10 startup

Thanks for your help MudCrab
