True Image 2010 and SSD's

Thread needs solution

I am thinking of installing a Solid State Disk to replace an aging HDD under Win 7. Will my TI 2010 backup to and recover from the new SSD?

Thank you.

It works with some and onot others. You would have to try it to know.

The problem with 2010 is that it will not let you adjust the necessary offset (1MB) precisely. So you would simply have to prepartition your disk upon restore if you restore an image from a non SSD to a SSD. To do this, you can use DISKPART to prepartition, then restore your image.
Once your disk is aligned, ATI 2010 will restore an aligned image and keep it aligned as long as you restore to the same disk.
If you restore to a bigger disk, you are back to the manual process.

With 2011, you would be better off doing a manual process (ie restoring each partition separately). With 2011, you can easily and precisely adjust the offset and size for the case of non-aligned to aligned, or aligned to bigger disk.
