True Image 2013 recovery disk does not see my Seagate USB drive

Thread needs solution

Booting from the recovery disk, and going into the recover section, does not list my USB drive that contains my backups (or the flash drive I have attached either). It shows the local partition that houses windows (the one I want to overwrite), and the DVD, plus various network options that list nothing. The disks were attached to the machine at boot time, and the system can see my USB keyboard and mouse, but not the disks.

Given that the backup is about 60GB of data, is there perhaps some way I can get it to recognize the drive, or an alternate way of presenting the backup file to the system? Would it recognize a network share on my router, or perhaps another machine? (I have a win8 box I can attach the USB drive, but not sure if I can get the system on the network, it's not finding the wireless, but I haven't attached it via ethernet, mostly because it will be a colossal pain to do so, and I'm hesitant if it has no chance of working.

Jaimi,

Is this build 5551 or 6415 that is having the problem?

Is your drive plugged into a USB 2 or 3 port?

What brand is the USB stick?

What network controller does your motherboard use?

It would be worth seeing if you ahve the same problem with your W8 system.
