What type of disk drive(s) does the new Acer notebook have and what SATA controller mode does the drive(s) use?

I would suspect that your ATI 2014 CD is based on the older Linux kernel OS that was the default for such older versions and as such does not have the required support for your disk drive or controller mode used.

Many new computers are using NVMe M.2 type SSD drives and are often configured to use RAID for the SATA controller mode, both of which are unlikely to be available for your 2014 rescue media.
