True Image 2015 bootable gui - timer popup loop

Thread needs solution

Hi, I have created bootable rescue media to USB stick. Booted machine into True Image GUI ok but the timer popup keeps coming onto screen for 30 seconds or so then disappears for a couple of seconds then comes back. I am unable to click anything on screen with mouse pointer

This process repeats having left it for 15 mins finally gave up and pushed PC power button to turn off. Tried a couple of times, same issue

I am trying to clone C partition of a dual partitioned HDD to a new SSD. Both drives are installed

Anyone any idea how to fix this?

Thanks in advance - Nick

Nick, welcome to these User Forums.

Please see forum topic:  [IMPORTANT] CLONING - How NOT to do this - based on other users doing this type of cloning action.

I am not aware of ever seeing any timer popup when using the rescue media but there could be a number of reasons why it might be shown.

Personally, I would recommend making a backup of your whole HDD drive with its partitions, then try restoring back just the C: OS partitions needed to boot into Windows to your new SSD drive.

You will also need to determine what BIOS mode your Windows OS uses to boot, this can be done by running the msinfo32 command in Windows then check the BIOS mode setting - this can be either UEFI or be Legacy, and the Acronis Rescue media needs to be booted using the same mode.

See KB 59877: Acronis True Image 2017: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media - which has some screen shots to show the differences, this will apply to the older versions of the product.
