true image 9 boot not recognising drives
Hi,
I am trying to use true image 9.I have been backing up with it for years and now when i need to do a full backup it will not work. When i use the boot disk it will only run in safe mode(no usb etc),when used in full mode it just sits on a black screen saying loading but that is it.The backup is on a sata drive which is not recognised in safe mode and i cannot even use a usb drive as these are not recognised either.I have tried downloading a newer boot disk from acronis but there is not one listed on the site. Please help!

Hi,
I have version 9 build 3,854.Nothing has changed except the drive has failed(C drive) hence the reason for the full backup. The motherboard is msi and has a VIA chipset. The original C drive and replacement are both IDE but the backup is on the SATA drive, which is not seen in safe mode.

Is this the first time you have used the boot cd with this machine? Is your USB drive V3.0? V9 will not work with V3 USB drives. Try downloading the latest Trial version of TI 2012 and make a bootable CD from that. You will have to install the 2012 Trial to make this work. See http://kb.acronis.com/content/2768 and http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/. IF TI 2012 Trial sees your SATA drive then try a recovery.

Once again a big thank you!!!!
ps. I think the new interface on true image 2012 is awful and i will not be upgrading to it.
