True Image Home 2009

Thread needs solution

Recently newly installed Windows 7 from scratch ( not upgrade but full install).
Acronis True Image Home 2009 gives me the following error messages, when I try to make a backup or anything else with it: Error#1722 "RPC server unavailable (0xFFF0)".
It was working perfectly well on Windows 7 Beta and RC1 before I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium.
Please help.
Jacques.
UPDATE: I thought my version of ATIH2009 was the latest, and it was not. I updated. So it now works almost as it should. It is still gives the same error message when I try to set a partition
(Acronis secure zone), so that still needs to be resolved.
No help is required since I believe that this is a software glitch.

Hello Jacques,

I will do my best to solve the issue you experience, but first please clarify the following. When you said updated your version did you mean upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010 or the latest build of Acronis True Image Home 2009?

At the moment, the following Acronis products support Windows 7:

(!) Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 supports Windows 7 with the following limitations:

  • Mounting backups stored in Acronis Secure Zone is not possible;
  • Mounting backups located on a network share in read/write mode is not possible;
  • The Active Restore feature is not available when restoring a system volume in Windows from a backup stored in Acronis Secure Zone;
  • User accounts generated for Acronis services during the product installation may appear on the Windows 7 logon screen;
  • Acronis Storage Node does not support tape drives. See Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Tape Support in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7.

(!) Acronis Snap Deploy 3 supports deployment of images of Windows 7, both with and without Acronis Universal Deploy. Installation of Acronis Snap Deploy 3 components on Windows 7 is not guaranteed.

In order to solve the issue I may recommend you upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010 using our online store. The upgrade price is $29.99.

To solve the issue with "RPC server unavailable (0xFFF0)" do the following:

- Download the http://www.acronis.com/files/support/schedmgr.exe file ;

- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;

- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:

schedmgr task zap

schedmgr service stop

schedmgr service uninstall

schedmgr service install

schedmgr service start

This should delete all the scheduled tasks on the PC. You should manage your scheduled tasks from the scratch.

Please also make sure that Acronis Scheduler2 Service (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services) Startup Type is set to Automatic. Otherwise, please set it to Automatic yourself and reboot your computer.
