True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition

Thread needs solution

Have Purchased and downloaded (twice) True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition - both times the system on my Toshiba has crashed.
Has anybody else had trouble and is there a solution to this ?
Downloads have been in accordane with instructions.
Both times the crash has been the same and requires a complete reinstallation of programs.

Brian, is your Toshiba actually a netbook with an Atom processor as that is a requirement for the netbook edition?
I have a Samsung NC10 netbook which I use with the standard edition of True Image Home 11 and which has been fine.
When you say your system has crashed and required a complete reinstall of programs, do you mean it won't boot and you have to reinstall the operating system etc, or are you meaning just the TIH 2010 Netbook software?

Hello all,

Steve, thanks for your help, we really appreciate it.

Brian, let me help you. Could you please confirm that your netbook is supported in Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition? You can find the hardware compatibility list at this KB article.

If your CPU is supported, please collect Windows Crash Dumps and AcronisInfo, and submit a support request attaching this information.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.

Thanks to Steve & Ilya regarding my Netbook problems
Sorry for delay in replying - have been away and out of contact.
My Netbook is a Toshiba NB 200 and is not shown on the list of supported netbooks - wonder why ?
To reply to Steve's question on the system crash - Yes the whole system crashes - after you have loaded TIH 2010 Netbook the download seems OK bu t the netbook processor and drive apparently never stops running and eventually you get the "BLUE SCREEN", therefore you can only turn the netbook off , next time you start it up it does the same thing all over again ??

Thanks for the suggestion & advice
Brian

Further to Steve's point on netbook processor - Yes the NB 200 has an INTEL ATOM processor.

Brian

Have again checked the list of Netbooks in the KB ARTICLE - although Toshiba is not listed I have found that CPU N280 is listed inrelation to several other makes
Will follow up on this a little later have run out of time at the moment.

Thanks will be back later

Brian

Hi Brian,

If you are getting a blue screen crash, then you should also be creating the mini dumps that Ilya requested - you should check the settings per the Windows Crash Dumps document referenced above, so that you only create the small (64kb) dumps and not the full size ones (size of your memory).

One useful tool if you have dumps is "WhoCrashed" from Resplendence Software this can give a quick indication of what is the likely cause of the crash and confirm it is directly related to one of the Acronis drivers.

Also, have you tried booting your netbook in Safe Mode i.e. press the F8 key during boot? This should allow you to collect the Acronis Info information that Ilya also requested, though you will need to download the Acronis Info tool for this beforehand.

One last thought, have you tried installing a trial copy of the full True Image Home 2010 software to see if that gives the same problem?

Regards, Steve
