True Image Home 2010 Refuse to Install

Thread needs solution

I am trying to install True Image Home 2010. The installation proceeds for several minutes and then hangs with the error message that "…does not have access permission to install…"!
I am the ONLY user on this machine, and I am registered as the System Administrator. I went back and verified that I was logged in as the SysAdm - which I was.
I attempted the installation 4 times with the same result.
The program is useless unless I can install it!

See post 2 in this thread, it won't take long and works in lots of situations where some other prog is interfering with the install even if it won't interfere with proper orpeations after installation.

I get the same error:
"Failed to read the file. You probably do not have enough permission to perform this operation."

I just bought ATI Home 2010 today, and it is refusing to install. I tried what was suggested in the linked post, but to no effect. Something has to work, or I need my money back.

I am using Win XP Pro SP3, I am the sole user, also a Computer Administrator.

Hello all,

Jonathan, please try to start the installation the following way:

Right-click on the executable file and select Run as administrator.

If the issue still persists, please make sure that the downloaded file is not corrupted:

- Download a free checksum utility;

- Unpack and run the application. Browse and select the installation package you have downloaded;

- Click the "Start" button;

- The MD5 value for Acronis True Image 2010 Home build #6053 must be ca4b8c27a9e1224520fcc745d22e8236. If your MD5 checksum differs from the provided you need to re-download the software.

If you still can't install the software, please gather MSI Installer log as described at this article and attach it to your reply.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

Many thanks for the follow up. I noticed some other posts warning about checksums etc, so I went back to basics and verified the download. It was corrupted. I downloaded the installer again, and all installed perfectly well, first try.

Cheers,
jonathan
