True Image Home 2011 Validation Problem: Child process has exited with code '2'.
Hello,
I’ve been using True Image Home 2011 for quite a while now, but I’ve only recently encountered a problem. I have a scheduled backup operation that runs weekly to back up both of my local hard drives. It is also set to validate the backup after creation. This normally goes smoothly, but I’ve received an error the past two times I’ve tried to run the operation. Here are the relevant portions from the log:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pending operation 3 started: 'Validate Backup Archive'
Child process has exited with code '2'
Execution of user command C:/Program Files/SyncToy 2.1/SyncToyCmd.exe failed. Error code: 1
Operation has completed with errors.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Regarding the third line, I use Microsoft's SyncToy as a post-backup operation to copy the backup file from one external drive to another. I've tested this command on its own and it works fine.)
When I view the details of the second line ("Child process has exited..."), I get a dialog box showing the following event code:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Event code: 0x0064008A+0x00640085
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I search for this on the Acronis error lookup page (http://kb.acronis.com/errorcode), I’m told there’s no information about it. I've attached a screenshot of the log file for the backup and the error detail dialog for the "Child process exited..." error. Can anyone offer me any explanation about this event code or why my backup might be giving me errors? Thank you for any advice!

Hi Grover,
Thanks for the quick response! I will try your suggestions and let you know what happens, bit it seems to me that the error is happening before TIH even runs the post command and starts up the SynToy program. Since I have TIH set to not run the post command if the backup operation doesn't succeed, the SyncToy copy operation doesn't even start. Also, yes, I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit).

I decided to completely delete my old backup job and files and start with a new one. I recreated all the settings except for the post-command, and it is working so far. I will try using the post command again on my next backup job, and if it doesn't work, I'll make another post here. Thanks for your help!
