True Image Home 2012 and Office 2012 Enterprise Plus
Hi,
I've had nothing but problems ever since i installed TI 2012. First of all my whole office suited (which i paid for) stopped working and started complaining about activation errors and was unable to run any of the office applications. I couldn't even repair or removed office. I ended up restoring my whole boot drive, surprise surprise office was working fine.
After restoring, TI 2009 (i have TI 2009 and 2012)refused to run, so i tried to repair the install and that failed, i even tried to uninstall and reinstalling 2009 and that also failed. I've been using Acronis TI for two years without issues until 2012 decided to screw things up. Im in a position now where Acronis TI 2009 no longer works. I wont install 2012 since i need my office 2010 to be working. I probably need to get 2009 completely removed and see if i can reinstall it unless there is a fix for the issues with office 2010?!
many thanks

Hi,
I have restored my C drive several times and have never had this problem with activation and office. The problem only began once TI 2012 was installed. The fact i cant repair or even uninstall office is a major concern, so i ended up restoring from an image with out TI 2012 and office worked fine. I just cant install TI 2012 while office is installed. I've brought a product i cant use ! I have been using Ti2009 for years and never had a single problem.

same disk restores are usually AOK with signature. if you swap drives or (sometimes) change partition sizes, you can change the signature or hardware key if the clone doesn't take that into account. I agree that 2012 is next to useless, but can't see where just installing it would alter a drive signature -- maybe if you used 2012 to restore the drive -- there have been reports of 2012 drive restores impacting both MBR and signature. I would not use 2012 to restore or clone a drive or partition --- there are just far too many reported issues. For these activities, I use 2011. If you own a 2012 license, then download 2011 and use it -- that product is far more stable.

@hhansard - Thanks for your reply. I know when i installed 2012, i no longer get Press F11 to boot into acronis at boot time, maybe that is the cause?! Still doesn't explain why i couldn't repair or uninstall Office 2012.

Now that is interesting... I have never received that option and been using from 2010 forward... Is this with the ISO, or am i missing something?

The only thing i can think of is, i setup a secure zone partition via Ti2009, which as been a life saver many a time, since i dont need a boot disk..

That's very possible. When the Acronis Secure Zone (ASZ) is created or removed, changes are made to the disk structure which could affect Office 2012's recognition of its activation parameters. In addition, setting up the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager (F11 boot loader) also overwrites the drive's master boot record (MBR). For a more detailed explanation see the section entitled Acronis Startup Recovery Manager & Acronis Secure Zone: Acronis True Image's "Plan B" at http://www.acronis.com/company/inpress/2007/03-15-boot-loader-3.html

that would do it... I avoid apps that get between me and my boot loader...
