True Image starts a 22:00 scheduled backup by itself at 14:47:14 WHY?
Hi,
I have True Image 2010 installed and it has just started a scheduled backup that is set to run at 22:00 every day, but it has just started to run all by itself.
Have a look at the screen print below and note the PC’s system time in the bottom right corner of the screen, and the time the task started @ 14:47:14, and the time is scheduled to run which is 22:00.
Can you tell me why your software is doing this?
I can supply a screen print to show the PC time and the Task Scheduled time etc. But it won't let me paste it on this POST. So I have attached it here:- It is called Acronis_Fault.doc

Hi Grover,
Thanks for the tips on Posting an Attachment.
No there was no other Task scheduled to run. The only one I run is at 22:00 every day. However, it has completed and sent me an email to conirm all is well etc, but the Date 14th is still coloured Blue.
The previous Backup Task for the 13th obviously did not run (why? I don't know) as it is shown on the calendar as White.
I was typing an email when there was a message in the bottom right of the screen which said Acronis Schedule Task has Started, and then everything grinds to a very slow speed and when I opened Acronis there it was running the Task set for 22:00 toninght.
No there are no Ghosts in my house, or at least I have no seen one. :-)
Acronis_Fault2.doc is attached and shows the Calendar is still Blue, even though the task has run by itself and has completed.
Regards,
Leslie.
UPDATE:- I have build no: 6,053 if this helps.

A "feature" of TrueImage is that the color will not change until the end of the 24 hour day.
I would suggest you upgrade to 7046.
My reason for asking about whether the task ever existed, is that prior deleted tasks may still exist in the registry. You can look at this posting and see if you wish to try.

Look under backup options and see if you can find the entry about all tasks to be displayed for all user--or something to that effect.
There is or was or maybe an backup option to not display tasks created under other user names and this may have malfunctioned.

Hi GroverH,
I have checked the registry and there are no other tasks to run or lurking around to fire up on their own.
I have attached a screen print Acronis_fault3.doc which shows that the proper scheduled Task set for 22:00 every day also was started and completed.
Someone from Acronis sent me a PM saying upgrade to the latest build abut this does not answer why this happened in the first place. It seems very easy to say upgrade and forget what could be a serious error in the software!!!
Acronis Support, why have you not investigated this fault?
Regards,
Leslie.

Leslie,
Regrettably, the build you are using is what it is. Any problems will be considered for a fix in a future build. In this case the future build is here and it is 7046 and is available for download. It may or may not have your fix but you can look at the fixes that the documentations says is fixed.
I do suggest that you look at my prior suggested link. It has fixed somewhat similar problem for others but I a cannot guarantee it will fix yours--but you can try with little risk.

Hello,
GroverH, many thanks for your help.
Leslie, let me assist you. As GroverH mentioned, most likely there are some traces of old tasks on your computer and that is why the issue occurs.
If the issue still persists after upgrading to the latest build #7046, I may recommend you to delete all tasks manually and then create them from scratch:
- Download the http://www.acronis.com/files/support/schedmgr.exe file ;
- Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
- Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:
schedmgr task zap
This should delete all Acronis scheduled tasks on the PC.
Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists.
Thank you.
