Larry - the best solution (assuming you still have sufficient space to do it) is to enable clean up. There are a truckload of options for controlling how clean up does it job, but the short version is that if you set up parameters that are already exceeded by your schedule then the next scheduled backup will trigger clean up.
If you need more specific help, you will need to post some screenshots of your current settings and destination folder
