True Image V9 Home Edition Questions
Hello All,
I bought TI V9 home edition and have a minor issue to resolve. When I do a scheduled backup of the MyDocuments folder I get errors on certain types of files (.wmv, .pub, .gif). It causes the scheduled backup to stop until the prompt is answered.
The backups run during the night when I'm dreaming of electric sheep so it's hard for me to monitor them. The error message says the files are corrupted and cannot backup. I know for a fact the files are fine because I can open them under their respective programs. I hate to exclude these files because I need to have them backed up.
Any thoughts? Besides this issue I'm very happy with TI
Philip

Just a thought, but did you disable all anti-virus and/or anti-malware programs before starting the backup? It could be that what is occurring is that these programs are trying to scan these files in real time when ATI accesses them to back them up, resulting in false corruption messages.
My only other thought, based on the file types that you mentioned, is that you may have malware on your computer which is interfering with the backup process.

Hello Philip,
I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.
The issue may concern to file system errors on the drive. So first of all I would recommend you to check hard drive for errors.
- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r" (where DISK is the partition letter you need to check) for every partition that is visible in My Computer. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.
In case Acronis True Image backs up the whole hard disk drives or partitions successfully, but errors out on file backup then there is a massive amount of files.
The symptoms are the following:
- With Acronis True Image you are trying to do file backup by running the Backup wizard and selecting My Data;
- You select one or several folders to back up. The amount of files in the selected folders is tens of thousands;
- During the backup process Acronis True Image fails with an error message similar to the following one:
Acronis True Image runs out of system resources on the machine when backing up thousands of files. This is a known issue, as a workaround, try running separate backup tasks, so that the amount of files in a onetime backup will be reduced.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thank you.
