True Image vs Macrium Reflect question over feature

Thread needs solution

Hi

Although I have used Macrium Reflect before, there is a very important feature that doesn't exist on it and I hope it does with True Image. The program looks really good but I hope someone can fill me in.

Whenever I would create an image of the entire partition, the image file represented all the used space AND free space. For example 17GB used 269GB free. So when restoring the image, if the disk was not at least 269GB, it wouldnt do it.

ALL I WANT IS A BACKUP IMAGE OF DATA USED!!!

Its common to create new partitions at any time, so you cannot count on having a crap load of free space just to do a restore. Anyone know if True Image works this way?

Thanks

J

Yes, True Image looks only at the *used* space. So you can, in fact, restore to a smaller drive as long that drive is larger than the *used* space on the drive that was imaged.
