Trueimage 2011 trial aborts install

Thread needs solution

Tried to install trueimage on my windows 7 x64 system but it failed repeatedly.

Virus scanners/firewall and spyware protection software were disabled during the install.

I looked at the log file, but could not figure out what the issue is.

Obviously I would like to make sure the trial works before I buy the product.

Hello Frank,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for your message. I will definitely resolve the issue for you.

I have analyzed the log and most likely the installation fails because our software cannot replace certain DLL files in the temporary folder.

Please check this solution and if it fails to help, please create a new .msi log file so that I can review it.

In case you need immediate assistance, we offer technical support for the duration of the trial period.

Let me know if you have additional questions please.

Thank you.

Originally tried a clean install that failed. I guess the log file was indicative of a reinstallation attempt.

I assume that the original install might have failed because I have a Grub boot loader in the MBR. I removed GRUB (and my linux drive), cleaned the temp directory and was able to complete the install.

Are there known difficulties installing true image on a system using the GRUB bootloader?

I'd like to know before I reinstall the linux drive and GRUB.

Regards,

Frank

Hello Frank,

Thank you for the follow-up.

Most likely the installation was successful because you cleaned the temp directory. We never had any installation issues because of a GRUB loader.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or any other issues.

Thank you.
