Try and Decide reboot loops

Thread needs solution

I have a sony vaio VGC-RB53 Computer running Vista sp1.... when I run Try and decise and reboot the system...at the logon screen for acronis to choose to continue or disreguard changes ... if I choose to continue my system reboots and brings me back to the decide screen again... If I choose to disreguard changes it dumps any changes and loads into windows like it should. I have that system setup to dual boot vista and xp ....with only xp installed it works but with vista it doesnt.I cant use try and decide as it keeps rebooting my system at startup. I also cannot use the mouse in the logon screen it just moves up and down on the startup screen..I have to make my choice with the keyboard. its a logitec wireless keyboard and mouse combo... I have the same setup on my other system hp7750n and everything works great its windows 7 64 bit and xp dual boot...

Hello Mark,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience, but first please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program.

By default, T&D saves the information to free space on the partition you have selected for protecting by Try&Decide. So first check whether you have enough free space on the partition/drive you have selected to save virtual changes.

If you use Windows Vista, only the Acronis Secure Zone is available as the location to store virtual changes. So if the issue persists check Acronis Secure Zone size, if it's not the case try to rebuild Acronis Secuer Zone from the scratch.

The issue can occur if you have Intel DP35 motherboard. It is related to improper interaction of Acronis Drive Handler with Intel DP35 motherboard. The issue is under investigation.

Let us know the results. Also please clarify the exact title of the program.

Hi, I'm currently using an eval version of your product and having a similar issue. I decided to try out this feature to test out an install of Office 2010 beta. I switch the feature on, and when I reboot I go to the Acronis selection screen and I click to carry on with Try and Decide. However, the system reboots and goes back the selection screen again. If I select to cancel and restore it does so happily and restores my computer back to it's orginal configuration.

I am protecting my C: drive and have used both that drive and another internal drive for storage of the changes. Both have plenty of disk space.

I am using Acronis Home 2010 build 5055 on W7 Ult x64 on a Dell XPS 435T.

Other than that everything else is working well. Performs so much faster than W7 backup and has a stack more features. It's likely to be a purchase I'll be making soon.

Any response anyone? I only have 7 days left on the eval and need to know if this feature works or if I'm doing something wrong.

Does T&D work with other software?

I'm wondering if Dell have their own boot partition utility that is preventing the T&D boot flag from working properly.

I also wonder if there are any restrictions with T&D using the trial version, there used to be, which made it impossible to actually trial T&D.
