Unable to Clone Netbook drive using True Image Home 2010 or Netbook version

Thread needs solution

I just purchased True Image Home 2010 and tried to clone my new Samsung N130 Netbook hard drive. It almost gets finished but shuts off before it should. It also doesn't appear to want to see all the partitions on my netbook drive. I downloaded and tried the Netbook version and it doesn't have a clone drive option (at least I couldn't see it). Question: How can I clone my Netbook hard drive using your software? I have been using your software for about a year now on my other PC without a problem. Thanks Ted

Hello Ted,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

You should perform so called “reverse clone”. The important point to remember is that you need to put the new drive in the laptop first, and connect the old one via USB. Only after this you may do the cloning. Otherwise you will not be able to boot from the new cloned drive.

You can do the cloning from Acronis Bootable Media. If you choose Acronis Bootable Media, you do not need to have an operating system and an Acronis product installed on the new drive.

You can also do the cloning from Windows. In this case you will need to have both Windows and an Acronis product installed on the new drive.
