Unable to find NT Authentication option in True Image Home 2009 - Please help

Thread needs solution

Hello Everyone -

I recently upgraded from True Image Home 11 to True Image Home 2009.  Under the old product, specifying a uerid/password for a remoted backup device was easy to find and specify.  Now with True Image Home 2009, I am unable to find this option anywhere.  Can some assist and show me where this option is located?  I have to specify a different set of credentals to access my Dlink 323 device for my backups.  Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.  The look and feel of Truen Image Home 2009 is completed DIFFERENT than previous versions and now much harder to find all the different options.

Thank you for taking time to read this post and replying.

Hello steve02usa,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

If you are connecting to a networked computer, in most cases you will need to provide the necessary credentials for accessing the network share. Check the Use NT authentication (you will see this option when you connect to network share) setting to log on automatically with credentials used for logging on to Windows. If you need to specify other credentials:

• Deselect Use NT authentication and enter logon credentials:

• User name - enter a user name

• Password - enter the user's password

When the Test authentication and connection button has been pressed, the computer will try to connect to the selected network share. If you receive an error message, check if the credentials are correct and provide the right user name and password for the selected network share.Having provided the required information, click OK to continue.

Hi Dmitry

My selected backup archive location is to be on a network share.  I have a 500gb LaCie Ethernet Disk Mini and had no problem saving backup archives to it when I used the previous True Image Home 11, which I did until I upgraded  to 2009.  I simply cannot get past this stage now with True Image Home 2009.

I have the user name and password for the network share.  I use them all of the time.  However, when I enter them into the NT Authentication fields (after having deselected the 'Use NT Authentication') and press the 'Test authentication and connection' button a pop-up box tells me that the user name or password are invalid.  This makes no sense at all.  The password is different to the one that I use to log onto Windows, but it is the correct one for accessing the network share.

Can you or a colleague suggest what might be wrong here?  many thanks.

Regards

Andrew

I am experiencing the exact same error, ATHI 2009...

Trying to create a WinXP Pro C:\ Drive full image to a network shared Win Vista Ultimate folder on an external drive whose security "Full" access is by "Everyone".

I can access and open this folder via Windows Explorer on the WinXP Pro PC reference above.

I cannot perform my backup to this networked shared folder until this authentication problem is resolved.

I know the exact usernames/passwords on both systems.

Please advise to resolve.

Thanks....
