Unable to get access to Linux mapped drive

Thread needs solution

I have a mapped drive (Z:) to my CentOS 6.3 folder, I am able to read, write, delete, rename that CentOS folder. I want to save my Acronis backup file to that mapped drive (Z:) but I can't pass that logon test.

I used user account as "domain_name/Domainuser" and I entered my password for that domain user. It works perfectly on Windows and Linux but not Acronis.

I installed Acronis True Image Home 2011 on my Windows 7 PC. I use Centrify enabled Samba to access Linux folders. Samba is integrated with Active Directory, therefore, I don't have issue to access Linux mapped folder with my domain account.

Could you help?

If you have a drive letter mapped to your Linux folder in Windows, why would you need to enter any credentials in Acronis to save a backup file to the mapped drive. Can Acronis see the "Z" drive as a destination? I have several drives mappped to a Linux box, and just tell Acronis to place the backup files there using the mapped drive letter created in Windows. I don't have to enter any credentials when using the Windows drive letter as the destination.

I configure file backup process > browse destination from mapped drives > Acronis shows "Edit Authentication Settings" > I have to enter user name and password for \\linux_mapped drive

I did another test with Norton Ghost 12 on Windows Vista by using same user credential and it works.

You may want to take a look at the 2013 trial to see if it can meet your needs or work better with your Linux destinations. My setup is most definitely different than yours, so I can't be much help to you here. Maybe someone else can jump in and offer you some suggestions on how to get it to work. Also have you looked at this KB article? http://kb.acronis.com/content/13504. Are you using buld 6942 of True Image 2011?
